In June of 1982, after a decision between two possible names, I opened the Blowing Rock Café. Fortunately, and with gratitude, the restaurant became very popular with locals, summer residents, visitors, politicians and some Hollywood celebrities. Over the years, the building has changed, the menu has changed and faces have changed; however, our consistency and quality have remained the same.
Over the past several years, I have changed the atmosphere to reflect a casual elegance. Utilizing the talent of my chefs I changed the dinner menu to showcase nightly specials, fresh fish, pasta, pork and aged premium steaks, complimented by a unique wine list and full bar.
We also made some renovations to the bar area to create a small, intimate corner neighborhood bar. We call it Bert’s Bar, named after my grandfather.
In 2007, we decided to no longer offer breakfast in order to better focus on lunch and dinner service, and we changed the name of the restaurant to the one not chosen in 1982. I want to personally thank all of my loyal customers for their continued support and patronage.
I look forward to seeing you soon at the Blowing Rock Grille and Bert’s Bar.
Sincerely,
Larry Imeson,
Owner
